Here's why we recommend UMMY™ pacifiers babies and their parents

  • They are made of 100% pure liquid rubber, which is known for its great elasticity and resilience
  • They are manufactured and packaged in Europe and conform to the high European safety and quality standard EN 1400
  • They have obtained the US 16 C.F.R. Part 1511 conformity certificate from a CPSC-accredited laboratory
  • They are entirely non-toxic and contain no artificial coloring, no chemical softeners, parabens, PVC, or phthalates, and are BPA-free
  • They have successfully passed N-Nitrosamine levels testing in both the EU and the US: comply with EN 12868 and ASTM F1313-90
  • Natural baby products are in high demand by environment- and health-conscious parents

Here's how UMMY™ are made

  • Liquid caoutchouc is a sustainable raw material, produced from collected tree sap of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis). After the tree sap (known as latex) is harvested, proteins are isolated and discarded, and the remaining pure rubber is poured into the molds. This process eliminates chemical treatments (involving pressure and temperature manipulation) necessary for the more conventional solid rubber manufacturing – and in the end it preserves the raw material’s integrity.
  • Another crucial difference is that UMMY™ pacifiers are assembled by hand. The three parts of the pacifier are created in separate molds and then joined together with liquid rubber. They are then baked in a specialized oven for several days. Afterwards they are washed thoroughly and multiple times in order to eliminate nitrosamines. Finally they undergo a strenuous stretch test whose requirements surpass even the European force guidelines.
  • This painstaking work and thorough quality checks result in the final product that is of the highest quality, durability, safety and, not unimportantly, attractiveness to the customer. The color of new natural liquid rubber is amber and luminously transparent. UMMY™ pacifiers are sealed in hygienic pouches and then placed inside the boxes, which are made solely of cardboard and contain no plastics. There are no windows in the packaging as exposure to light causes natural rubber to gradually change color and affects its elasticity.

Here are some advantages of UMMY™ pacifier's design

Advantage of UMMY™ pacifier's design
  • Every single part of the UMMY™ pacifier is soft and flexible, thus making it a perfect fit for baby during nighttime as well as during the day.
  • Since it is manufactured in one piece, there are no joints or cracks, thus minimizing the number of places for bacteria to accumulate.
  • Three large ventilation apertures on the shield help prevent skin irritation caused by prolonged contact with saliva.
  • Its protective shield is flat, allowing the muscles of the mouth and the lips to have freedom of movement and thus encouraging muscle activity and development. The comparatively large size of the shield prevents the baby from squeezing it enough to fit into the mouth. Because of its softness, the shield will not leave marks on baby's face.
  • The grip ring is flexible and comfortable for the baby – which is particularly helpful during tummy time. The nipple is soft and malleable; as a result, the tongue has plenty of room for movement. Since the pacifiers are molded in one piece, the nipple and the shield are connected securely, thus preventing the pacifier from falling apart.
  • To make selection easier, UMMY™ pacifiers come in many shapes and sizes. It is difficult to recommend one nipple shape over another – the choice is really up to the baby.

Here's how one should care for the UMMY™

Boil pacifier for two minutes before first use only; do not boil thereafter. Wash regularly in hot, soapy water for about one minute and rinse thoroughly. Do not use dishwasher or steam sterilizer. The pacifier is likely to eventually change color due to exposure to light.

Caution: All natural rubber articles wear out and should be replaced. To prevent a possible choking hazard, test strength regularly by pulling hard on all parts. Inspect nipple portion regularly, especially when baby is teething. Replace immediately if pacifier becomes sticky, swollen, cracked, torn, or shows other signs of excess wear. Do not expose to excessive heat or direct sunlight for an extended period of time as these may cause the natural rubber to lose its elasticity. For safety and hygiene replace the pacifier after 6-8 weeks of use.

WARNING: Do not tie pacifier around child’s neck as it presents a strangulation danger. This product is made from natural rubber latex which may cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.
